Clouds

This is what I woke up to this morning. Those of us who live in Sand Canyon know how beautiful our neighborhood is at dawn and at dusk, and we are often treated to an amazing lenticular cloud display such as this one. An hour later, I captured the shot of this gray flying saucer shaped cloud. Beam me up!

Many years ago, I left work, after a long exhausting day. The last teacher to leave the school, I wrestled with the unyielding lock on the gate, wondering if I was trapped inside for the night. I couldn’t help noticing an angry lenticular cloud hovering over California City. I stared up at the giant cloud glaring down at me and took it as another of the many signs that I should retire and pursue my dreams. Not long afterwards, I did.

A woman who was visiting Sand Canyon saw the Virgin Mary in a lenticular cloud. This was very meaningful to her, and because of this vision, she started a church here in the canyon. I’d post a photo if I had one, but I did see the photograph and visit the resulting church.

So, lenticular clouds aren’t just amazing to look at, they can change lives!
