Sunrise and New Puppy

When I used to teach at the middle school in California City, I’d leave the house in the dark and then drive into the sunrise. It was hard getting up that early but the view of the sun rising up over the ridge in technicolor was a great way to start the day. I think sunrises have a different quality than sunsets which are often more spectacular. The colors of the sunrise are softer, except when they aren’t, as before a storm. Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning. Drivers too!

I have a new puppy. She is forcing me to get up before dawn to take her outside. The perk? Sunrise. A work of art that changes daily. Here are a few pictures, including one of the moon at sunrise and its namesake, my puppy Luna.
